Romance Movies for Date Night

Romantic movies happen to be one of my favorite things. I’m always going to be a sucker for the newest “chick flick” that will make me cry and contemplate the perfect love. I love them so much that I often resort to begging to get my boyfriend to watch them with me. Weirdly enough he does not love them. I have a movie collection of 150+ and there are at least two handfuls’ of romance movies present. I think some romance movies are obvious like ‘The Notebook’ by Nicholas Sparks but then again not every love story is so obvious. I also love movies that have the hidden love stories, yes I know, I said I love romantic movies, but I also LOVE movies with hidden love stories. So I came up with a list of some of my favorite movies, I’m not a professional movie critic but I’ve definitely seen my share of movies.

1. P.S. I Love You (2007) —> I will cry EVERY time I watch this movie. It never fails me. It is so horribly and wonderfully sad. If you haven’t seen it, it is honestly a must. Here is the trailer. See for yourself, it has an amazing love story that ends too soon but allows you to fall in love all over again throughout the movie. Makes you hold your significant other a little closer.

2. Pretty Women (1990) —> SUCH A CLASSIC! I love this movie for the exact same reason every other girl loves this movie. If someone like the character Julia Roberts plays in this movie can get a millionaire to see past her not so dignified job, then there is hope for every woman out there. This movie made me love Julia Roberts as an actress! Here is the trailer.

3. The Parent Trap (1998) —> Also a great movie. Looking back at the movie now, I’m sad to see where Lindsey Lohan has gone but she plays the best “twins” in this movie! The story line of people falling out of love and then finding their way back to each other is so cliche. But I’m not complaining, I love it, every couple in this movie seems to find their way to love. Here is the trailer.

4. Sweet Home Alabama (2002) —> This movie makes me grateful I was born in the South! I love this movie for so many reasons; the characters, plot, setting(s) and script. Sometimes all it takes to fall back in love is to get back in touch with your roots. Soul mates are soul mates. Here is the trailer.

There are so many movie movies that I could list, but I won’t! There are a ton of websites that list romantic movies from the 30 past (or so) years. I’m including some pictures of other movies that I love just for future reference! I highly advise taking some time to watch a good romance movie with your love!
